In today’s episode, we meet Laura King Edwards, author of “Run to the Light,” a story of her life after she learned a few weeks following her wedding that Taylor, her young sister, had a rare disease for which there was and is no cure. Laura, a runner, began running for Taylor.
With her mother and family friends, Laura founded a charity in an effort to save children with the disease and she came closer to Taylor and her mother. Taylor didn’t quit and when the disease took her sight, Taylor wanted to run with Girls on the Run and she completed her first race, blind. Inspired by Taylor, Laura, a lifelong runner, began running in half marathons to raise money and awareness, and eventually, she put on a blindfold and ran for Taylor.
We start the show with Laura reading from the prologue, where she’s running for Taylor.
