Meet Our Mobile Library, MoLi

MoLi

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library places great importance on improving lives and building a stronger community. The Mobile Library, nick named “MoLi” (pronounced Molly), strives to provide equitable access to the underserved and underrepresented communities of Mecklenburg County. It expands the library’s reach into neighborhoods with high need and provides new ways for everyone in Charlotte to learn and grow.

Features:

  • Large book collection with new and popular titles
  • ADA compatible wheelchair lift
  • Mobile technology cart to be equipped with laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and other technology
  • Programming both inside and outside the vehicle
  • Diesel generator and a power inverter supported by four solar panels on the roof of the vehicle.

Charlotte’s public library system is called the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. It is one of America’s leading urban public libraries, serving a community of more than one million citizens in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It includes 20 locations, outreach, and a wide variety of online content. All of these services are available to you for free, if you live inside Mecklenburg County.

How Can I Access The Library?

If you want to take materials home with you or access our online resources, you will need to get a library card, which is completely free of charge for Mecklenburg County residents. All you need to get a library card is proof of address (piece of mail, bill lease, etc.) and a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport).
