Teen Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways that teens can earn community service hours at the Library! We have welcomed back in-person VolunTeens at all of our branches and accept applications twice a year. We also have a virtual volunteering opportunity available. In addition, we offer one-off programs at several locations where you can earn community service hours. Lastly, there are other opportunities within our community that you can also explore. Be sure to check all the links below for more details.

Teen Newsletters

Did you know the library publishes newsletters written by teens, for teens around the Charlotte Mecklenburg community? It serves as a catalyst to ensure that the voices, talents, and accomplishments of our teens are heard and respected. Currently, our West Boulevard and Davidson branches are active, but we’d like to grow this to all of our locations. Check them out!

College Exploration Podcasts

As part of our College and Career Connections initiative, we are interviewing students from local colleges, universities, and technical schools to help teens learn more about their options. All opinions expressed by interviewees are solely their current opinions and do not reflect the opinions of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. Take a listen to these short, fun and engaging podcasts to help you on your journey!
