This week, talk to your child about books that you’ve read together. If you read, We’re Going On a Bear Hunt, ask questions about all the places the family had to go through. Doing this helps children with memory but more importantly, the sequences of events: what happened first, next, and last.

Create Snow Figures
Use white model magic for the body, beads for the face, and add small sticks for the arms. Attach a magnet on the back and place your snow creation on any metal surface.
Get a head start!
For the upcoming music vocabulary month, start your own handmade instrument collection. Find two blocks of wood, add sand paper to one side of each block, and then rub together.

Make Rainbow Ice!
Freeze colored cubes of ice in trays. Pop them out, put them in a bin or bowl, and discuss with your child. Ask them questions like “What is the ice going to do if it’s out of the freezer too long?”

Haga Aguanieve
Para hacerlo, necesita una lata, sal (rock salt), hielo, y agua. Llene la lata hasta la mitad con agua y hielo picado. Agregue 4 cucharadas de sal y mézclelo todo bien por 30 secundos. Déjelo reposando por un rato. Cuando regrese, mire lo que pasó en el exterior de la lata.
Haga un arcoiris de hielo.
Congele agua con colorante de diferentes colores en hieleras diferentes. Una vez congelados, retire los cubitos y póngalos en un tazón. Hable con su niño acerca de lo que pasó. Pregúntele cosas como, “Que pasará con el hielo si lo dejamos fuera del congelador por mucho tiempo?”
