Engage children with materials that promote identification of the letters of the alphabet, including ABC books, magnetic letters, alphabet blocks and puzzles. Use direct instruction to teach letter names that have personal meaning to children (“Look, Jennifer’s and Joey’s names both start with the same letter. What is the letter’s name? That’s right, they both start with J”)

Trace a fuchsia flower!

Create a stained-glass
Using cellophane and a fuchsia sharpie, draw a flower. Place the decorated cellophane on your window to create a stained-glass effect.
Experiment with colors
Teach your child about the primary colors (blue, yellow, red) and then use food coloring and water to mix the primary colors to make secondary colors (green, orange, purple).
Talk about sun safety
Talk with your child about the sun. Explain that it is vibrant and can be harmful to our eyes and skin. Make sure they know the importance of using sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats while playing outside!
