Positional words help explain where things are in relation to something else. Many positional words are also known as prepositions and include words such as: on, above, next to, and below. Practice this vocabulary with your children by giving simple instructions to place toys in different “positions” in their room or around the home.

Draw sketches.
Help your child draw three sketches using a tree, tree shadow, and lines. Talk about the tree in relation to the horizon line and foreground line (line nearest to you.)
Make a barn out of a box!
Construct a barn out of a box and practice the words of the week. Look behind the window or stand in front of the barn.
Play with the position words.
Use toy cars or animals to practice the positions with your child. Pretend a car is driving “in front of” another car. Have a giraffe run “behind” an elephant.
Set up water play for your child.
Put some plastic water animals in a bin or bucket and let your child play. Ask your child to swim the fish “in front of” or “behind” each other.

Dibuje
Ayude a su niño a dibujar tres árboles y dibuje las líneas que forman la sombra. Cambie la posición de la línea horizontal y hablen sobre la posición de cada árbol en relación a las líneas (lejos, cerca, detrás, delante, etc. )
Use una caja para hacer un granero.
Seleccione una caja grande y corte una puerta y dos ventanas. Decórela con crayolas y materiales que tenga en la casa. Use el granero para practicar las palabras de la semana. Por ejemplo, diíale a su niño que se siente enfrente del granero o detrás de la ventana.
Juegue con las diferentes posiciones.
